Accessibility statement

Our commitment

People come to this site because they are worried about something. Making that harder than it needs to be is not acceptable, whatever someone's sight, hearing, mobility or cognition.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA. We do not claim to have achieved it in full, and this page sets out where we know we have not.

What we have done

• Text and background colours are chosen to meet the AA contrast ratio, and we do not use colour alone to carry meaning.
• Pages use proper headings in order, so a screen reader can move through them sensibly.
• Every image that carries meaning has alternative text. Decorative images are marked so they are skipped.
• The site works at 200% zoom and reflows on a phone without horizontal scrolling.
• Links are written to make sense out of context, rather than "click here".
• The suitability checkers can be completed with a keyboard alone.
• We write in plain English and explain clinical terms the first time we use them.

Known limitations

We would rather tell you these than have you discover them.

• Some older blog articles may have images with thin or missing alternative text. We are working through them.
• PDF documents supplied with test kits, including manufacturer instructions, are produced by the laboratory and are not under our control. They may not be fully accessible. If you need the content of any of them in another format, email us and we will provide it.
• The shop at shop.mecheck.co.uk is built on a third-party platform and its accessibility is not entirely within our control.
• We have not yet commissioned an independent accessibility audit.

Getting the information another way

If anything on this site is hard to use, or you need information in large print, plain text, or read aloud, email chun@bioxmedical.co.uk and tell us what you need. We will send it in a format that works for you.

If you would rather discuss a test by phone than online, call 07971 900608. We can take an order and answer questions that way.

Telling us about a problem

We want to hear about it. Email chun@bioxmedical.co.uk with the page address and what went wrong, and we will reply. If we cannot fix something quickly we will tell you how we plan to, and offer another way to get what you needed.

Enforcement

The Equality Act 2010 requires service providers to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people. If you are unhappy with how we respond to an accessibility complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service.

How this statement was prepared

This statement was prepared on 19 September 2026 based on our own review of the site against WCAG 2.2 level AA. It has not been independently tested. We review it when the site changes materially, and at least once a year.
