The terms on which we supply at-home test kits, laboratory analysis and clinical reporting. Written to be read, not to be skipped.
This website and the MeCheck shop are operated by Biox Medical Ltd, trading as MeCheck, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 12160624, with its registered office at 47 Bury New Road, Prestwich, Manchester, England, M25 9JY. You can reach us at chun@bioxmedical.co.uk.
Clinical review and reporting of results is provided by Northwest Health Ltd, which is registered with the Care Quality Commission. Reviewing clinician: Dr Chun How Tang, GP, GMC 4576963.
These terms apply to every order placed with us. Please read them before you order. By placing an order you confirm that you accept them.
We sell at-home sample collection kits together with laboratory analysis and, where applicable, clinical reporting. The tests are screening and wellness tests. They are not a diagnosis, they do not replace assessment by a doctor, and they are not a substitute for colonoscopy or any other investigation your doctor recommends.
A normal result reduces, but does not eliminate, the possibility of disease. An abnormal result is not a diagnosis of cancer or of any other condition; it means further investigation is warranted.
If you have symptoms, do not use a screening test. Bleeding from the back passage, a change in bowel habit lasting three weeks or more, unexplained weight loss, persistent abdominal pain or new unexplained tiredness all need a GP appointment. Using a screening test in place of seeing a doctor may delay a diagnosis.
You must be 18 or over and ordering for yourself, or for someone who has asked you to order on their behalf and who consents to being tested. We do not knowingly sell tests for use on children. Individual tests carry their own age guidance, which is set out on the relevant product page.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us, including the name and date of birth on the laboratory request form. A sample that cannot be matched to a legible, signed request form cannot be processed.
Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation. If we cannot fulfil an order we will tell you and refund you in full.
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. Delivery within the United Kingdom, and the prepaid return of your sample, are included in the price shown. We may change prices at any time, but changes do not affect orders already confirmed.
If a price is obviously wrong and you could reasonably have recognised it as an error, we are not obliged to supply at that price.
Kits are dispatched the same or next working day and sent in plain packaging with nothing on the outside to indicate the contents. We deliver within the United Kingdom only, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
Risk in the kit passes to you on delivery. If a kit arrives damaged or incomplete, tell us within 14 days and we will replace it.
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you may usually cancel a distance purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason. To cancel, email chun@bioxmedical.co.uk. You must return the kit unused and we will refund you within 14 days of receiving it back.
There are two exceptions, both of which the Regulations allow:
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights if goods are faulty or not as described.
You must follow the instructions supplied with the kit. In particular you must post your sample on the day you collect it, Monday to Thursday only, and not before a weekend or public holiday.
We cannot be responsible for a result that is invalid or unobtainable because a sample was collected incorrectly, labelled incorrectly, stored outside the stated temperature range, delayed in transit, or affected by something you were asked to avoid before testing. If a sample is unusable for a reason within our control or the laboratory's control, we will supply a replacement kit at no charge. If it is unusable for a reason within your control, a replacement kit is chargeable.
Kits have an expiry date printed on them and must be stored between 10°C and 25°C. A kit used after its expiry date cannot be analysed.
Results are normally available within the timescale stated on the product page, which is an estimate rather than a guarantee. Results are issued to you as a password-protected document.
Where a result is abnormal, a GP will review it and contact you to discuss it at no additional cost. Where further investigation is advised, you will be given written information you can take to your own GP or use to arrange it privately. We do not arrange, fund or provide colonoscopy or any other onward investigation or treatment.
We are not your GP and we do not take over your medical care. You should tell your own GP about any abnormal result.
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, our total liability arising out of any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss. We are not liable for a delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, including postal disruption.
We are not liable for any decision you take, or do not take, on the basis of a result without medical advice.
If something has gone wrong, email chun@bioxmedical.co.uk with your order number and what happened. We will acknowledge your complaint within three working days and aim to give you a full written response within 20 working days. If your complaint concerns the clinical review of a result, it will be handled under the complaints procedure of Northwest Health Ltd.

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the version published when you placed it. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own country.
Placeholders to confirm before publication: VAT registration number (if registered), the exact complaint response timescale you want to commit to, and whether onward referral arrangements differ from the description in section 8.
